Setup Guide
1. Install Slinked
Click "Add to Slack" on the install page and authorize Slinked for your workspace. You'll need to be a workspace admin to install apps.
2. Opt in your profile
Type /slinked in any channel. A modal will open where you can:
- Verify your identity with LinkedIn OAuth (recommended)
- Or manually paste your LinkedIn profile URL
- Add your location, role, bio, and what you're looking for
3. Browse the directory
Open the Slinked app in your Slack sidebar. The Home tab shows:
- Your Top Matches — members ranked by relevance with explanations
- Full Directory — all opted-in members with LinkedIn links
- Copy Connection Message — pre-crafted notes with community context
4. Invite others
Type /slinked share in a channel to post a message encouraging others to join the directory.

Smart Match
Smart Match ranks community members by how relevant they are to you. The algorithm considers:
- Geographic proximity — same city, region, or country
- Shared channels — more shared channels means higher affinity
- Complementary goals — "Looking for mentorship" matched with mentors
- Role similarity — similar titles cluster together
- Bio keyword overlap — shared interests and keywords
Each match includes an explanation so you know exactly why someone was recommended.
Pro Features
Pro is billed at $49/month per workspace. Workspace admins can upgrade at any time. Pro unlocks:
- Channel sub-directories — browse Slinked members by channel
- CSV export — download all opted-in member data
- Custom message templates — set the default connection message
- Remove branding — no "Powered by Slinked" in messages
Privacy Policy
Slinked collects only the data that members explicitly provide:
- LinkedIn profile URL, name, and photo (via OAuth or manual entry)
- Email address (via LinkedIn OAuth, if granted)
- Self-reported location, role/title, bio, and goals
- Slack user ID and workspace ID (for app functionality)
What we don't collect: We never read messages, DMs, files, or private channel content. We don't sell or share member data with third parties. Channel membership is read only for Smart Match scoring and is not stored.
Members can opt out at any time by updating their profile. Workspace admins can request full data deletion by contacting support.
